Itinerary — 20–24 July 2026 (annotated)

TL;DR

Five days, four locations (Noto, Kanazawa/Nonoichi, Toyama, Komatsu). The arc: see disaster damage → present & compare (Forum) → see inspection/repair tech in the field → see construction & society. Objectives below are quoted from program.md.

7/20 — Noto Peninsula → Noto-Peninsula-Earthquake

  • Visit to disaster-affected sites in the Noto Peninsula.
  • Observe disaster-related structural damage and recognize the importance of maintenance.
  • Understand real inspection and restoration methods; consider applications in your own country.
  • Domain: Disaster-Damage-Restoration

7/21 — KIT + Ishikawa College → Kanazawa-Institute-of-Technology · Ishikawa-College-GPS

  • Maintenance workshop (KIT) = the Forum: identify and compare each country’s challenges & solutions; build networks through international discussion.
  • Traffic-volume analysis using GPS data (Ishikawa College): learn fundamentals & applications; consider uses back home.
  • Domain: GPS-Traffic-Analysis · Prep: Thailand-Forum-Prep

7/22 — Toyama → Toyama-Bridge-SIP-Demo · Toyama-Prefectural-University

  • On-site demonstration (Toyama): observe SIP-developed technologies on an actual bridge; experience their field effectiveness.
  • NDT lecture + hands-on (Toyama Prefectural University): fundamentals of non-destructive testing incl. elastic-wave methods; operate lab equipment.
  • Domain: NDT-and-Elastic-Wave · SIP-Program

7/23 — KIT + Komatsu → Kanazawa-Institute-of-Technology · Komatsu-Pavement

  • Student presentations (KIT): maintenance project planning for a virtual bridge — see how it’s taught; discuss human-resource development.
  • SIP-related research labs (KIT): ongoing R&D and current trends.
  • Pavement repair site (Komatsu): observe real repair processes, techniques, and application conditions.
  • Domain: BIM-CIM-Digital-Twin · Pavement-Maintenance

7/24 — Toyama → Toyama-Expressway-Widening

  • Expressway widening construction site (Toyama): planning & construction tech for large-scale projects; safety & construction management.
  • Consultation event, Toyama City: hear local-government maintenance challenges; see how SIP technologies reach society.
  • Domain: SIP-Program · Maintenance-Cycle-Primer

Carry one question per day

Each site answers a different stage of the maintenance cycle. Jot what transfers to Thailand (and to the JICA-student countries) — that’s the workshop’s whole point, and great forum material.
